The Treasure Coast Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of   America is exciting and new!  Keep in mind in our growing area, more and more people of all ages need "hearing help".

Being a part of the Nation's Voice for People With Hearing Loss, our purpose is to assist through information, education, advocacy and support.
Membership is not only for the hard of hearing and deaf, but also for those who live with, work and care for them also.
People with hearing loss wait an average of 7 years before seeking help - don't wait - get help now.

SEEKING SPONSORS:  The Chapter is sponsoring
exciting new Lip Reading classes to start in the fall.
We are seeking co-sponsors to help with costs and
also looking for location host.

Lip Reading can be a fun activity for all ages and a skill that only gets better with practice and becomes useful for so many aspects of life.  Picture yourself being a nurse or Doctor, reading the lips of a patient who can mouth the words but due to a stroke or throat disorder, can’t talk; a worker, able to read the lips of others out of earshot, or a teacher able to read the lips of a student who is whispering and shouldn’t be talking; or even a parent, able to read the lips of others, child or not.

Contact us if you can help!

Seeking Donations:  Can you help?  The Chapter is always seeking donations.  If you can help, please e-mail or call 466-5687 (ask for Bill or Cheryl); or you can mail to Treasure Coast Chapter, HLAA, %DHHS,  1016 NE Jensen Beach Blvd., Jensen Beach, FL 34957.

And thanks for helping us help others!

Hearing Loss is a daily challenge, and this is a great opportunity to make your life or the life of someone you know better.

Through meetings, information is exchanged about advances in technology; public policy and advocacy affecting the hearing impaired; audiological research findings;  challenges in education; strategies for living and working with those with hearing loss, employment issues and more are discussed.

You are not alone - become one of the 55 million Americans who is DOING SOMETHING to cope with your hearing loss or help someone who is hearing impaired!  See what a difference learning about the phones (including the new caption phone) and other tools created specifically for those with hearing loss, can make in your life. VOLUNTEER TODAY!

Sign up to volunteer or be an ambassador, and send ideas and suggestions to us, we welcome them.

We are looking for VoluntEars (those who can help) and AmbassadEars (those who can financially and professionally assist).
